Pros & Cons of Honda Elevate
Things We Like
- VTEC engine will last for 100 years, outlasting their owners.
- Driving manners are relaxed and sedate, may feel underwhelming for thrill seekers.
- Honda has given it only 1 engine option, sending potential buyers away to Korean and German offering with multiple engine options.
- Very comfortable ride and well controlled NVH.
- Everything is very easy to reach in the cabin, something a lot of carmakers could learn from Honda.
- Rear passenger space, boot space and ground clearance are simply phenomenal.
Things We Don't Like
- Thigh support will be an issue for taller folks.
- Honda could have given a DCT for a bit sportier appeal.
- No Diesel, or Turbo-Petrol options.
- Why does Honda City feels more solid and premium, given the near identical price tags?
Honda Elevate Review
overview
I drove the Honda Elevate CVT. The thing here is that Honda’ hasn’t done anything new to take on its Turbo DCT rivals like Kushaq or Taigun. Its simple set of features means it pales when compared to the king Creta. So will Honda decision to bank on its VTEC and reputation of reliability alone be enough to make ita best-seller, read on to find out
engine and performance
Under the bonnet, the Honda Elevate CVT is powered by a 1.5‑liter i‑VTEC petrol engine that churns out 121 PS at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm. Gone is the classic VTEC sound that I felt in my manager’s Brio, thanks to the BS6 laws. Honda has given the Elevate a pretty tight gearing which is pretty handy in city traffic. I managed to cruise at 100 kmph at around 2500 rpm, the redline is at 7000 rpm.
This setup provides ample low‑end torque for stop‑and‑go city driving and moderate highway cruising. In real‑world conditions, the engine delivers a smooth and efficient performance,
The CVT transmission is tuned for relaxed driving and exhibits a teeny-weeny bit of lag though when you just slam on the race pedal. The Elevate drives like a SUV with a decidedly heavy steering even at moderate speeds and little body roll during cornering, but nothing that will make you go woah!.
The suspension has a long travel and soaks up bumps and potholes with ease, combine that with 220 mm of ground clearance and its a real winner on all surfaces.
interior
Honda has designs th cabin with pretty posh looking material combined with a simple ergonomic layout.
The centerpiece is a 10.25‑inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The digital instrument cluster is clear and informative, delivering key driving data in a crisp format.
Space is one of the Elevate’s strong suits; the cabin is roomy enough for a family of five, with ample headroom and legroom in both the front and rear. The seats are ergonomically designed for long‑haul comfort, though some drivers have pointed out that they lack ventilation—a minor drawback in hot climates.
The AC is pretty fantastic and the max cool mode does the job in like 4-5 minutes. The brown leather like material made the cabin look quite welcoming. As usual cheap plastics are there but hidden out of sight.
You get all the high-end stuff like frameless mirrors, Type C ports, electric seats and a massive sunroof. The top variants also come with a lane watch camera that works well but takes a bit of time to get used too. The boot space is 450 liters plus and can hold all the cargo you could ever carry during your lifetime.
exterior
The Elevate has a very strong presence thanks to its massive all black singlepiece grille and a big hood. You get all LED DRLs and lamps on either side with minimal chrome running up and down
On the side, the elevated roofline and carefully designed character lines contribute to a spacious impression, while the electrically adjustable and foldable side mirrors enhance both form and function.
The vehicle rides on stylish alloy wheels that complement its modern aesthetic. At the rear, the design is minimal yet effective, with LED tail lamps that provide a cohesive look. Honda’s design team has done a good job in making it look like a proper SUV and not some bloated crossover.
The 17 inch wheels were enough for looks and comfort, although the whole diamond cut stuff is getting pretty boring .
safety
TheElevate is equipped with the Honda Sensing suite, which includes Collision Mitigation Braking, Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation, and Adaptive Cruise Control. These systems work together to offer a higher level of driver assistance, enhancing overall safety during both city driving and highway cruising.
Standard features like 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and hill‑start assist round out the safety package.
final verdict
The Honda Elevate CVT stands out as a strong contender in the compact SUV segment. Its 1.5‑liter engine delivers adequate performance for urban environments, while the spacious, tech‑laden cabin and comprehensive safety suite add to its appeal. Elevate is not meant for enthusiasts drivers or Honda fanboys who expect the VTEC magic. It's a solidly built premium SUV with a very thoughtful feature set that is perfect for highway munchers and those who prefer understated styling and relaxed driving over brashness of rivals like Creta and Kushaq
