Magnite CNG Launched
The Magnite CNG is priced from Rs 6.89 lakh to Rs 10.02 lakh (ex-showroom) and comes in six variants. It uses the same 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine as the regular version and is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The CNG kit, priced at Rs 75,000, is a dealer-level retrofit supplied by Motozen and will be installed at authorised centres.
It also comes with a 3-year/1 lakh km warranty. The Magnite CNG is now available in Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, and Karnataka, with plans to expand availability further. It undercuts rivals like the Tata Punch CNG and Hyundai Exter CNG, making it a more affordable option in its segment.
New Models Coming Soon

Speaking at the launch, Nissan India MD Saurabh Vatsa dismissed rumours about the brand’s exit from India, stating that Nissan remains committed to the market with an aggressive product strategy. Pre-production of two new models, a Triber-based MPV and a Duster-based C-SUV, has already begun at Renault’s Chennai plant.
The MPV is scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2026, followed by the SUV in mid-2026. A larger, dedicated 7-seater SUV is expected in 2027, which will be an entirely different model rather than just a plus-two configuration.
Nissan will continue investing in the Magnite, which is now E20 fuel compliant and exported to over 65 countries. The compact SUV remains a core part of the brand’s India lineup.
No Exit Plans
Despite stepping back from joint plant ownership with Renault, Nissan confirmed that its operations and timelines remain unchanged. Vatsa said the shift was aimed at making the brand “more agile,” and that cooperation between the two brands remains strong.
The company is using part of its €700 million investment in India for the development of these upcoming models and is targeting 1,00,000 units per year for both domestic and export markets.
With the launch of the Magnite CNG and three new models in the pipeline, Nissan is clearly focused on long-term growth in India.
