The Best Launches From The 2025 Auto Expo

The Auto Expo 2025, officially called the Bharat Global Mobility Expo 2025, turned out to be an exciting event for car enthusiasts and industry insiders of the capital. Held at the Bharat Mandapam Convention Center in New Delhi from January 17 to 22, the 2025 Auto Expo was all about electric vehicles (EVs), luxury SUVs, and futuristic designs. Various automakers including MG, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata, Porsche, BMW, and Skoda, unveiled their latest models, concept cars, upcoming cars, and cutting-edge technology, offering a glimpse of what’s to come in the automotive future!

Here’s a detailed look at the most noteworthy launches from the Auto Expo 2025. Spoiler alert, there are a ton of EVs lined up below!

BMW X3

Earlier this January, we reported that BMW will bring the all-new 4th generation X3 SUV in India sometime in Q1 o Q2. Well, BMW has just launched the fourth-generation X3 SUV in India at the Auto Expo. Priced between ₹75.80 lakh and ₹77.80 lakh, the new X3 features a fresh design that is cleaner and more minimalistic compared to earlier versions.

It’s all about refined simplicity now—sleek lines, a premium interior, and a modern vibe. A complete departure from the earlier design approach.

BMW iX1L

First Ever BMW iX1L SUV India Launch Image At Auto Expo

BMW surprised everyone with the launch of the iX1L, the long-wheelbase electric version of its X1 model. Priced at ₹49 lakh (ex-showroom), the iX1L is an India-made EV with a stunning range of 531 km on a single charge. It’s a direct competitor to the likes of Mercedes-Benz EQA but at a much more competitive price point.

If you don't know already, the EQA comes at a starting price of over Rs. 67 Lakhs, and obviously, it is less spacious than the Long-Wheelbase iX1. Plus, it offers a similar range of around 560 KM on a single charge. So it's absolutely obsolete in comparison with the new BMW iX1L. Plus, there are no direct competitors of the BMW iX1L in the luxury EV segment other than the EQA. Hence, we'd like to call it one of the most brilliant moves of BMW India!

Porsche Macan EV

First Ever Porsche Macan EV SUV India Launch Image At Auto Expo

Porsche brought the Macan EV to India, and it’s a head-turner! Starting at ₹1.21 crore, the base variant delivers 355 horsepower and a range of 536 to 641 km. For those who want maximum power, the Turbo variant is priced at ₹1.7 crore and boasts an impressive 639 horsepower that makes it go 0-100 km/h in just 3.3 Seconds. Porsche even set up a mini test track at the event, letting potential buyers experience the Macan EV’s agility firsthand.

There is also a mid-variant named the Macan 4S, which comes with a 516 horsepower setup doing 0-100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds. Claimed ranges for all the new Macan EVs are over 500 KMs on a single charge, no matter how powerful it is.

Porsche Taycan Facelift

The updated Porsche Taycan also made its India debut at the Auto Expo. Starting at ₹1.9 crore, the facelifted Taycan features improved efficiency and performance. The Turbo variant, priced at ₹2.52 crore, packs a jaw-dropping 885 horsepower and does 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds! And it does all of that while offering a range of up to 557 km.

The current, base spec Taycan comes with nearly 600 horsepower and pushes a 0-100 km/h time of just 3.7 seconds. More importantly, it can attain a maximum range of 705 KM in urban usage!

Hyundai Creta Electric

One of the most talked-about launches was the Hyundai Creta Electric. Starting at ₹17.99 lakh, it’s an affordable EV with a range of up to 473 km. However, Hyundai offers two battery options: a 42 kWh and a 51.4 kWh pack, and the larger battery, priced at ₹21.49 lakh, delivers the maximum range.

The 42 kWh battery pack offers a claimed range of 390 kilometers on a single charge, which is somewhat lower than what we expected. However, with its accessible pricing and practicality, the Creta Electric could be a game-changer for EV adoption in India.
