Introduced for the Indian market in 2022 by Jeep, the Grand Cherokee is the American automaker’s flagship SUV followed by Meridian and Compass. The full-size premium SUV was so far available in a single variant named Limited (O), retailing at Rs 67.50 Lakh (ex-showroom).

However, the automaker has now announced a Signature Edition variant, which is destined to have a limited run and comes with a price tag of Rs 69.04 Lakh (ex-showroom).

New Features

The Signature Edition's only noticeable change from the Limited (O) variant is the introduction of some additional features. The Grand Cherokee now comes with motorised side steps, which make it easier to climb in and out of the SUV. Then you have an 11.6-inch Android-based touchscreen infotainment with built-in speakers, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and AUX compatibility, at the back for the rear passengers.

The Signature Edition also carries over the features from the Limited (O) variant, which include - a panoramic sunroof, 8-way power-adjustable and ventilated front seats, with memory function for the driver side. Additionally, you also get auto-dimming IRVM, dual-zone auto AC, wireless phone charger, powered tailgate, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car tech, and a 9-speaker Alpine sound system.

Engine and Design Remain The Same

The Grand Cherokee’s powertrain remains the same as it carries the same 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, which produces 272 hp and 400 Nm. Mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, the Grand Cherokee is only available as a four-wheel drive SUV.

Even in terms of design, the Signature Edition does not have anything extra to flaunt. It gets the same overall design as the standard model. Some significant design elements include Jeep’s signature seven-slot grille, 20-inch alloy wheels, and the tall, boxy stance.

The Signature Edition costs Rs 1.54 lakh more than the standard feature and is a limited-edition model, though the automaker has not disclosed how many units there might be available.
